Transcription of the above Columbia Cemetery Memorial Stone:
Columbia Cemetery Founded 1855
“Prior to the mining in Columbia, the public cemetery was located northwest of Main Street. In 1855 it was moved here adjoining the existing Masonic and I.O.O.F. cemeteries.
“Ordinance #14, passed and approved July 1, 1857 declared this groud to be a town cemetery.
“Dedicated by Golden Era Parlor #99 – Columbia Native Daughters of the Golden West 24 April 1989.”
