As we drove towards Plymouth, we tried to locate the old Oleta Marble Quarry, but we were unable to find it. It was known to produce light gray and blue clouded marble and blue schists.

We then drove east to the town of Plymouth. In Plymouth the old buildings fronts were made of brick and the sides and backs of field stone set in plaster and covered with mortar. Pieces of marble have been inset into the sidewalk.
